GV II

Terraced houses. c.1828-30. Yellow brick set in Flemish bond,
stucco, roof obscured by parapet. Three storeys over basement,
two windows each. Basement and ground floor stuccoed, the
ground floor decorated with banded rustication. Steps up to
round-arched entrance with fluted quarter-columns except to
nos 23 and 47 (which lack proper sides to the doorcase), no 25
(panelled pilaster jambs), and nos 33-41 (pilaster jambs with
convex and concave mouldings), cornice, fanlight with
decorative glazing except to no 45, and panelled doors.
Ground-floor window round-arched, windows to upper floor
flat-arched. Nos 27-35 have moulded stucco architraves to both
floors and cornices to first floor. 6/6 sashes, with radiating
glazing bars to ground-floor windows, are common throughout
these houses. First-floor windows have cast-iron balconies.
Cast-iron railings to area.
