Terrace of 7 houses. Late C18. Brick with stone dressings,
slate roof. 3 storeys with basement, 3 bays to each house.
Windows have wedge lintels and are sashed. Top cornice.
No. 9 has ground floor casements. Entrance paired with that
of No. 11, round-headed entrances with 3 Doric columns and
pediments. No. 11 has lengthened 1st floor windows. No. 13
and 15 have paired straight-headed entrances, attached portico
with, 4 Doric columns and 2 pediments. Mansard roof with
pedimented dormers. Nos. 17 and 19 have entrances similar
to Nos. 9 and 11, No. 17 with 6 panel door, No. 19 with
complete fanlight. 1st floor sill band and glazing bars to
upper windows. No. 21 has stuccoed ground floor, straight
headed entrance and glazing bars to upper windows. No. 9
was birth place of Arthur Clough, poet (born 1819) and Anne
Clough, first principal of Newnham College (born 1820).
