GV II

17 terraced houses. Forming symmetrical crescent with
irregular blocks. 1846-52. Brown and yellow stock brick set in
Flemish bond; stucco basement, ground floor and cornice.
Pitched slated roofs and party-wall stacks. Sidehall entrance
with staircase. 3 storeys, basement and some with attics, 2
windows each. Banded stucco ground floor with segmental arched
sashes, some margin lights. To left, low steps rise to
square-headed doorway; panelled door flanked by plain
pilasters carrying corniced-head; rectangular overlight with
simple glazing bars beneath rosette frieze and console
bracketed cornice. Nos. 1 and 17 have side entrances with
stucco portico. Upper floor of brick with stucco sill band
beneath first floor full-length, square-headed 3-light sashes
surmounted by a single pediment alternating with recessed
blocks of architraved sashes. Cast-iron window guards of
palmette and rosette motifs. 2nd floor with architraved
square-headed sashes with lugged apron. Stucco cornices; nos.
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 16 with blocking courses. Some
attics with dormer.
