Front area-wall with railings to workhouse, now hospital.
1837-9. Front area wall is mainly of stone rubble, except for
the curved entrance sections which are probably of rendered
brick. Apart from taller sections at the entrance ends, the
wall is low with a chamfered coping and carries an iron
railing with spearhead finials. At each end of the two
straight sections is a square stone ashlar pier with a moulded
cap.
