Shop, with storage over. c1886-7, facade redesigned c1910,
altered late C20. Render over brick, roof concealed behind
parapet. Plan: 1 unit in terrace, abutting No.85 (not
included) to west and to east Nos 88, 89 & 90 on ground floor
and on the upper floors the south return of No.59 Lansdowne
Place (qv). 3 storeys, 4 bays; the building distingished by
pilaster quoins, dentil moulded cornice, fluted string, all
square window openings with rounded corners in moulded
surrounds, cills on brackets mostly with cast-iron window box
guards, sash windows with one vertical glazing bar. Nos 87 &
87 originally had slender columns with arch-head openings, now
cut with inserted plate glass; ornate fascia to a
double-fronted shop with glazing bars of slender columns
carrying arch-head openings, now obscured, shaped head to door
with Art Nouveau-style fanlight above, clear glass. Forms part
of a good group with buildings to east (qv).
