House. Early C17 or older front range facing east, rebuilt taller with two storeys, attic and cellar in early C18, retaining three-unit plan with central chimney at upper (south) end of middle room and external gable chimney to north. Extended one bay to south and altered in C19.

Two storeys and cellar rear range, with lower floor levels, added in C17 with parallel pitched roofs giving a row of six gables to rear. Oak timber frame plastered for rear range. Heavy pine timber framing for mid-wall. Red brick gable and front walls to front range and C19 extension. Steep old red tile roofs with parapet gable at north end but cusped bargeboard at south. Asymmetrical plan with entrance nearer north end. Central chimney, disused when external gable chimney and south extension added in C19, was subsequently removed. Upper floor had partition doors in line along front wall, but C19 alterations created a passage at rear.

Four window early C18 east front in red brick now painted white. Two storeys with plinth, floor band and moulded wooden eaves cornice. Giant order brick pilasters next to each corner with moulded brick base and cap and section of frieze below break forward of cornice. Surviving blind recess with gauged flat arch indicates position of former central stack. Other windows have been widened on one side and given higher segmental heads in C19. Recessed sash windows with 6/6 panes. Six-panel door, under second window from north, one window, two storeys C19 extension on south. Flat moulded porch with panelled soffit and two wooden moulded columns without entasis. Triple sash window on ground floor to right of porch. Two C18 flat topped, two storeys, canted bay windows at rear, with dentilled cornices and 4/4:6/6:4/4 sash windows. South window expanded on ground floor.

INTERIOR has exposed stop chamfered beams and square section joists in kitchen (south end of rear range), C18 panelled entrance hall with moulded dado and cornice, and several C18 two-panel doors with HL hinges, one door on first floor with moulded raised and fielded panels. A small gabled dormer on the rear slope of the front range lights the attic.

An interesting double-pile house, formed by alternate rebuilding at front and rear, with a most remarkable C18 construction for the middle wall with lofty pine uprights, now partly exposed.
