Former Police House and Magistrates Court now used as Youth Centre. Early C19.
Lias ashlar walls with plinth. Slate roof with stone gable-copings and cavetto-
moulded kneelers. One brick stack at left hand gable. 3 storeys. 3 windows, sashes
with narrow glazing-bars and gauged stone voussoirs. Front Door, at centre, with
small bracketed stone pediment over. Wooden door with 3 recess-panels. Right-hand:
studded plank door with elliptical arch head. Left-hand: carriage-entrance with
elliptical gauged stone voussoirs. Long rear wing, of 2 storeys and 6 windows.
Segment-headed windows. Two C20 doors, and 3 C20 stone sleeper buttresses.
Interior: elliptical ceiled roof in rear wing, formerly that of magistrate's court.
Prisoner's cells formerly underneath, now all converted to gymnasium.
