Terrace house of a pair with No. 78. c.1730 probably by Thomas Richmond. Stock
brick, slate roof. 4 storeys (top floor early C19 addition). 3 windows wide.
Ground retains door of 6 fielded panels to right in architrave case with moulded
consoles and cornice, and C20 shop front to rest of ground floor. 1st and 2nd floors have recessed sashes, no glazing bars, under segmental red brick arches and with red brick dressings; later attic storey has recessed sashes under flat gauged arches. Parapet with coping. Internal features include partial survival of similar panelling to No. 78, cornices etc. and dog leg staircase with cut string and twisted balusters (missing from bottom flight). (The flank walls of Nos. 80 and 81, both mid C20, have reset stone tablets inscribed "Richard Buildings, 1732".)
