11/11 Hoop House

House. Probably C16 origin (possibly non-domestic),
reconstructed as 2 storeys central chimney, lobby entry plan,
facing E in later C17, modern 2 storeys rear wing. Timberframed
and plastered with hipped tiled roof. Large central chimney.
Unusually wide building so that the older N half is partitioned
along an axial central beam. Chamfered crossbeam at 1st floor
with face-halved scarf with bridled butts in W wall plate. S
half has 2 parallel longitudinal chamfered beams supporting the
C17 floor structure of square joists. Same paired beams in
ceiling of upper floor. Several plank doors with H hinges.
