of Dodington House

Lodge. Early C19 with later Cig additions. Limestone ashlar and rubble, brick,
slate hipped roof to original lodge, slate roof to rear addition. West front of
single storey original lodge has plinth, round headed recess with central 9-pane
round-headed sash with splayed glazing bars in upper section, small blocking
course under projecting eaves; set back to right and left a curved low brick
wall, 9-pane sash, stone parapet and brick coping to left, C20 door to right and
conical roof. Attached to rear right a 2-storey brick cottage, sash in gable
end, small 4-pane window at ground floor left; to right a rubble curtain wall
with stone coping, concealing a semi-circular brick addition with pointed arched
window in stone surround, single storey addition with sash to right. Formerly
lodge at western entry to Dodington Park (q.v.).
