C1900. Brick and terracotta. In a Perpendicular Gothic style. Five storeys;
3 bays in the rhythm 1:2 plus the polygonal corner turret with entrance below
and another 4 bays on the return in Temple Row West. Ground floor with a
subsidiary entrance up steps and within a cusped and sub-cusped arch with
finial and 2 cusped and sub-cusped arched windows. The principal entrance up
steps and flanked by 2 orders of colonnettes and dainty decoration in the
stilted arches; left and right polygonal shafts carrying beasts bearing shields
inscribed O and A. First, second and third floors each with 3 cross windows
with cusped lights and set between horizontal moulded bands variously treated
in their details. Fourth floor with three 2 light ogee headed windows. Thin
banded polygonal buttresses rise either side of bay 1 almost to parapet height;
even thinner moulded shafts rise likewise left, right and between the other bays.
The polygonal corner turret is fenestrated similarly - as is the return on Temple
Row West. All except ground and first floor windows with original leaded lights.
Parapet with complex gable-cum-chimney, parapet and corner polygonal turret with
pointed slate roof.
