This building has had many uses including club/reading rooms, net storage and repair loft (the doors are still visible where nets were hoisted up over rollers) and domestic accommodation. Originally, the house was clad in weatherboards which have now (sadly) been replaced with slates.
The two upper floors are connected by stairs and direct entry to the top floor is via Cliff Street, directly opposite Mount Street. The harbour level is now a candy shop but was previously divided into a woodworking workshop and an art gallery which was rented by the well-known artist and sculptor, Miss Elinor Lambert.
Until the 1960's there was a bench seat in front of the building where elderly fishermen sat to view and discuss the activities of the harbour. It was known locally as 'Mevagissey Parliament'.
