1910. Octagonal Tower. Blank base of 2-storey height and 6 stages above (the
5th blank). Pointed, swept tiled roof with gabled dormers on alternate faces.
Multicoloured stock brick with red brick dressings. Wood and stone moulded main
eaves cornice. Dormers have 3 stepped slit windows and red brick moulded eaves
cornice. Top stage, of red brick, has 3 round arched openings to each face,
with stone cills. Beneath this a blank stage with red brick arched corbelling
and angle lesenes which merge with slightly projecting upper floor. Below this,
each face has a 4-storey, long, round arched recess, defined in red brick, and
within this on each floor, a round headed slit window. Recesses rest on red
brick moulded and dentilled cornice of bottom stage. Plinth about 8 ft high
with stone coping.
