Walls, gate piers and gates at
junction of Sands Hill and A46

Walls, gate piers and gates. Early C19 with C20 repair work. Coursed
limestone freestone walls, ashlar piers, cast iron gates. Walls in arc in
2 sections, each about 7 metres long and about 2 metres high; walls and piers on
plinth, pier at each end, continuous cornice over walls and outer piers, pair of
central tall square piers with cornice, plinth and ball finial on stem
(replacement of C20 to left); pair of cast iron gates with curved struts.
Placed at south east approach to Dyrham Park (q.v.). (Sources: Verey, D. :
