Two houses, now office and restaurant. c1840. Brick with
ashlar dressings; tile roof with brick end and cross-axial
stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; 2+1-window range, curved corner, and
single-window range to St Martin's Place. Ground floor has
cornice wide eaves, brick piers flanking windows. Ground floor
has entrance to left end with segmental arch with key,
overlight to panelled door. 3+4 windows to ground floor have
similar heads over 12-pane horned sashes and brick aprons
under sills; 1st floor has windows with sills, and
fielded-panelled wedge lintels over 16-pane sashes; similar
casement windows to 2nd floor. Corner has entrance with
baseless columns and flanking panelled pilasters, entablature
and blocked overlight to door with 2 round-arched panels;
curved windows above have eared architraves, 12-pane sash to
1st floor, 6-pane sash to 2nd floor.
Return has similar details as main facade, 2 windows to ground
floor, window to 2nd floor has 8-pane sash.
INTERIOR has stair with cut string and turned balusters.
Important focal point in the street.
