Millhouse and mill converted into hotel. Probably C18 origins, extended in early
C19. Mill probably early C19.
Stone rubble. Slate roof with gable ends. Brick end stacks.
Plan: Original arrangement uncertain. The mill house comprises a front range of 2
room and central entrance plan, heated by end stacks with wing to rear left of
smaller 2-room and central entrance plan, also heated by end stacks. The mill
directly to rear is of overall rectangular plan, running parallel to the front range.
Exterior: 2 storeys with 3 storeys to the mill to rear. The front range has a
symmetrical 2 window front with brick segmental arches to openings; 4-pane sashes on
ground and first floor with C19 central doorcase. The rear wing has a regular 3-
window front with central entrance. C20 central porch of stone rubble with slate
hipped roof, sash to left and large 4-pane sash to right. Two C19 12-pane sashes on
first floor flank a central blind opening. 3 storey mill to rear with C19 12-pane
sashes.
