ST MERRYN PORTHCOTHAN

Farmhouse, now divided into 2 houses. Circa mid C17. Stone rubble, slate hung on
right hand side. Slate roof with gable end on right and half hipped end on left. End
stack on right and axial stack to left of centre, both with brick shafts.
Plan: 3-room and cross or through passage plan with entrance to right of centre.
Lower end on right heated by end stack and hall to left of entrance heated by axial
stack. It is uncertain whether the inner room to far left was heated.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Regular 3 window front with entrance to right of centre and
dressed stone cambered arches to ground floor openings. C20 door with hornless C19
16-pane sash to right and 2 similar sashes to left. Three 16-pane sashes on first
floor, the C19 left hand sash without horns. C20 extension to left.
Interior: Not accessible.
