Said to have been formerly a cider house (for consumption of cider) with an integral 'keel' (skittles) alley and pair of cottages; now a store and 2 cottages. Probably early or mid C18, remodelled in Cl9. Painted stone rubble, right hand end gable is slate hung. Slate roof with gabled ends and red clay ridge tiles. Projecting lateral stacks at the rear with concrete caps and clay pots. Plan: Single depth rectangular plan integral single phase building. At the right hand end a house which is a former 3-storey cider house (for cider consumption not cider making) with a central entrance and a straight staircase between the 2 principal rooms and another room to the left. To the left of this is the 'keel' (a form of skittles) alley (now a store) with a central front entrance and 2 cottages above entered from doorways at the higher ground level at the back. Exterior: 3 storeys. Not quite symmetrical 6-window east front facing river, the 2 windows to the right of centre are narrower and closer spaced. All C20 2-light casements with glazing bars, 8 panes per light except for the circa early C19 casement to the left of centre on the first floor and the 2 right hand ground floor windows which are circa early C19 16-pane sashes with an early C19 6-panel door between, the bottom panels flush. The wider doorway to left of centre has C20 plank double doors and a brick segmental arch. All the windows are also in segmental brick arch openings with slate sills and the doorway to the right has a timber lintel. Rear elevation has C19 casements with glazing bars and 4 large projecting stone lateral stacks and later outshuts. Interior: The cider house left hand ground floor room retains its C19 benches with shaped ends and a straight staircase with stick balusters. Most of the doors are C19 parallel or plank doors, but on the second floor there are some C18 fitted 2-panel doors and some C18 plank partitions. Light scantling ceiling beams are exposed on the cottages and the 'keel' alley has a chamfered axial beam.
