Former Rectory, 1848 by Butterfield. Coursed greensand rubble with ashlar
limestone quoins and dressings, steep pitched roof of fishscale pattern
blue Staffordshire tiles. Small copper roofed bellcote on ridge of N.front,
tall stone chimney stacks, stone coped gables, stone gabled eaves
dormers. 2 storeys and attic, 1st floor string. E, elevation has gable
with projecting chimney on LH with smaller gable on right having 1 light
attic window, 2 light mullioned window with trefoil headed lights to
1st floor and gabled porch below, corbelled cut on large stone brackets
supporting gothic arch. 2 and 1 light mullioned windows to RH, 1 dormer
and projecting chimney. S.elevation has gable to LH with canted bay
window on ground floor with trefoil headed tracery. 3 light lst floor
and 2 light attic windows with shallow arched lights and hoodmoulds.
Trefoil headed traceried staircase window using lst floor string as
central transome to centre, with dormer above and on far RH a 3 light
trefoil headed window to ground floor and 2 light arched headed window
to 1st floor. W, elevation has projecting stack to RH, dormer to LH,
shouldered arched lights to windows 4 light to LH of ground floor
with 3 light above 2 light in centre of 1st floor above a modern door
in the Butterfield manner, to the right of the chimney a similar door
on the 1st floor leading to a small balcony on top of a projecting
modern conservatory with canted end and trefoil pattern tracery.
Lower 2 storey wing to N. with projecting wing with gable to W, attached
high stone wall linking with small 2 storey service block in similar
materials and style, L shaped with gabled wing at E, end, 2 light
mullioned lst floor window, doors to service rooms to ground floor.
