Lodge. Between 1796-1816, part of rebuilding of Dodington Park (q.v. Dodington
C.P.) by James Wyatt. Limestone ashlar with shallow domed copper roof and slate
chimney pots. Classical style. 2-storey rotunda, with Tuscan colonnade of
9 bays terminating in square engaged columns, rising from low plinth with fluted
frieze; central panelled and glazed door with overlight, sash to each side in
plain reveal with cill, to each side 2 blind windows and outer sash; colonnade
supports plain frieze, cornice and blocking course, upper storey has 6 round-
headed sashes with splayed glazing bars, cornice and blocking course, clustered
central chimney pots of shaped slates. Rear has projecting bay (filling
colonnade area) with central door with overlight, blind window right and left with
C20 window inserted to right, pilasters between door and windows, blocking course
above raised over central bay. Interior: not inspected. (Sources: Verey, D.:
