Cottage. Mid to late C17. Rendered over cob. Gable ended thatched roof. Tops of
stacks rebuilt in red brick.
Plan and development: Two-room central entrance plan, facing south-east. Central
entrance lobby with staircase to rear, and integral end stacks. Outshut at rear of
left-hand end. Two storeys, with one-storey outshut.
Exterior: Three-bay south-east front; probably C19 two-light small-paned wooden
casements. Central boarded door with bracketed pent hood. Left-hand gable end with
2-light wooden casement to each floor. Rear with 2 two-light wooden casements on
each floor to left, those to the first floor with 2-light glazed gablets above.
Outshut to right with small one-light wooden casement.
Interior: Left-hand ground-floor room has C17 chamfered cross beam with scroll stops.
Left-hand fireplace with glazed tiles. Early C18 cupboard in left-hand wall with 2
doors below and 2 smaller doors above, with raised and fielded panels. Early C18
door to outshut at rear, with 2 raised and fielded panels and H-hinges. Slate-
flagged floor. Right-hand ground-floor room has C17 chamfered cross beam with scroll
stops. First floor rooms and roofspace not inspected.
