Gate lodge. c.1848, possibly by William Burn. Red brick with
ashlar dressings, colourwashed, slate roof having carved and
figured scrolled bargeboards on curved wooden brackets and
exposed rafters, single red brick ridge stack. T-plan. Single
storey, 2 bay side front having planked door in moulded ashlar
surround covered by gabled porch, supported on carved wooden
brackets. To left is a rectangular oriel window, also on carved
brackets with glazing bar casements and hipped lead roof. Above
a plain rectangular ashlar panel. To the road side is a further
3 light rectangular oriel.
