7-8-52 (formerly listed
Matravers) and No 1 Matravers

GV II

Farmhouse, attached to cottages. Late C18, with a Cl9 north wing.
Rubble-stone walls. Thatch roof, with stone gable-copings and level
kneelers. Brick stacks at each gable end. 2 storeys. 3 windows,
C20 3-light wooden casements with glazing-bars. Wooden cills.
Original stone voussoirs over. Front door at centre, plank with
2-lights, C19. Thatch porch canopy over, carried on 2 wooden
brackets. Interior: open fireplace stone jambs in west gable
end, with a wooden lintel over, c.C18.

Rear range at right. angles is no.1 Matravers, C19. Dressed stone
walls. Slate roof. Brick stack at end gable with a C20 top. 2
storeys. 2 windows, 2-light wood casements with glazing-bars, repaired.
Wood cills and stone lintels.
