GV II

Gazebo. Mid C18, restored 1992, architect Dr Mervyn Miller.
Single storey, timber-framed and weatherboarded. Canted oriel
bay window on brackets over river, with weatherboarded
spandrel, 3 sash windows with glazing bars, separated by
pilasters, moulded wood cornice and lead flat roof. Single
light sash window in west wall; half glazed door, with
recessed lower panel with bolection moulding flanked by small
sash windows on north wall; plastered C19 extension with Welsh
slated roof, on east wall housing reset timber shell-headed
niche in interior. Moulded wood cornice and hipped roof, with
4 courses of old tiles alternating with 3 courses of
fish-scale tiles. C19 Staffordshire Blue open roll ridge tiles
with fleur-de-lys inserts over hips. Weathervane with lurcher
dog motif. To left are iron railings, with gate, formerly at
head of timber steps (now missing); railings to right link
gazebo with boundary wall to No.63.
