Shops, now with flats and offices. c1780. Brick with ashlar
dressings; ?slate roof. Georgian style. 3 storeys; 7-window
range. 1st floor sill band and top cornice. 3 round-headed
entrances alternate with 2 C20 bow windows; C18 shop front to
right end. Entrances have doorcases with pilasters,
entablature blocks and open pediments, fanlights, that to
No.17 with thick wooden glazing bars, to 6-fielded-panel
doors. Small-paned bow windows have pilasters and
entablatures. Shop front has entrance with flanking
small-paned bow windows; entablature and entrance with
enriched overlight to half-glazed door up steps with iron
handrails; early C19 Egyptian style lettering. Upper windows
have rusticated wedge lintels with keys, those to 1st floor
have 12-pane horned sashes, those to 2nd floor have sills and
6-pane sashes. Enriched iron bracket and lantern over shop
front. Rear has wings. INTERIOR: No.17 has stair with turned
balusters.
