GODSHILL

Formerly known as: Elfin BEACON ALLEY.
House. c.1680, extended in C18 and altered in 1838 when it was
refenestrated. Stone rubble with ashlar quoins. Half-hipped
thatched roof with 2 brick chimneystacks. One and a half
storeys; 6:4 windows. 6 dormers with C19 casements. Ground
floor has on left hand side 2 mullioned windows with
dripmoulding and to right 2 modern 3-light casements. Modern
central porch. Outshut to rear. Interior has chamfered spine
beam with 2 inch chamfer and inglenook with beehive-shaped
breadoven with cambered architrave. Right hand part has a mid
C18 cambered fireplace and spine beam and joists with run out
stops.
