Pair of attached estate houses. Circa mid C19. Local stone rubble with
rendered front. Grouted scantle slate roof with gabled ends and 2 gables at
the front, all the gables have pierced wooden bargeboards with finials and
pendants. Large central axial stack with a square main shaft and diagonally-
set attached shaft to front and back, with moulded yellow day pots.
Plan: Pair of attached houses, each with a plan the mirror image of the other
with a principal room at the front, a side entrance porch and a service room
at the rear in a central wing. In the C20 an extension was added in the angle
behind the left hand house.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2-bay gabled front. The ground floor has
2 canted bays with original casements with lozenge and diamond-shaped panes
and slate hipped roofs with moulded eaves cornices. Two 2-light casements
above with glazing bars, the right hand light of the right hand window retains
its original glazing bars with lozenge and diamond-shaped panes. Flanking the
left and right of the front are original C19 open gabled porches with pierced
bargeboards. Both porches serve doorways in the side walls. There is an
original casement on the first floor of the right hand gable end with lozenge
and diamond-shaped panes.
