Shop and flat. C17 with late C19 facade. Forms one element of
a row. Timber-framed, largely replaced with brick. Pantile
roof. 2 storeys. Symmetrical shop front with central 2-leafed
part-glazed doors with rectangular cast-iron lattice vent
above. Sliding sash shop windows with arched upper sashes
forming spandrels for cast-iron lattice vents. Glazed tile
plinth with head of bull to left and sheep to right in
decorative medallions (vents and tiles denote a butcher's
shop). Coloured tile paving to front of shop. Sloping fascia
flanked by paired timber brackets on half-fluted pilasters.
Over each window is an iron bar with decorated terminals for
displaying meat. 2 first-floor sashes with horns. Brick dentil
eaves cornice. Stack to rear of ridge. Rear wing attached.
INTERIOR. Surviving C17 spine bridging beam with ogee and
nicked chamfer stops.
