Shop, with domestic accommodation above. Mid C19. Pink and
cream mottled brick in English garden-wall bond, on stone
plinth; painted stone keyblocks and moulded timber eaves
cornice. Slate roof, hipped over corner bay, with brick stack
at each end. L-shaped on plan, on corner site. 3-storeys;
3-window front on Old Maltongate, 2-window front on
Castlegate, and canted corner bay between. Old Maltongate
front: to left, 4-panel door and overlight, beneath segmental
brick arch with triple keyblock; narrow single-pane sash
window further left. Shop entrance in centre: half-glazed shop
door, with overlight, beneath segmental arch with triple
keyblock and faceted keystone. Shop window to right, of 2
round-arcaded Gothick-glazed lights, in triple-keyed round
arched opening. Ground-floor windows on Castlegate front are
similar. First- and second-floor windows throughout are 4-pane
sashes, those on first floor with keyed segmental arches,
those on second floor squat, with flat arches: all, except
shop windows, have painted stone sills. On Old Maltongate
front, between ground and first floors to left of shop door,
is late C19 painted metal street sign, which reads: OLD
MALTONGATE/[
