2. Late 1830s, (one stack said to bear date 1836). Probably for and by J R Sturge, local architect. Tudor Gothic. Random rubble, ashlar dressings, slate roof. South side has 2 storeys and attic in centre; 3 windows, glazing bar sashes, with drip moulds above. Single storey projecting stone porch; 4 centre arched entrance in moulded square-head surround; full height side windows with diamond glazing bars; corner buttresses. Deep projecting bracketed eaves with fretted bargeboards. Octagonal shafted chimneys. North side, 3 storeys. Splayed projecting bay. Cast iron bracketed balcony. To west attached single storey glazed conservatory with heavy stone columns and octagonal finials. To west of house, 2 storey stables and coach house. Rubble, slate roof. Round headed doors to stables (modern garage attached). Hay loft over stables and small room entered from garden.
