Solicitor's Premises, formerly large town house. Late C17 core with C19
re-facing. Ashlar stone facade with rubble side-walls. Large moulded
cornice and parapet. Tile roof with stone gable-copings, former parallel
ridge, now with front and rear pitches and flat-top. 2 storeys. 5 windows,
sashes with thin glazing-bars. Good recess-plane architraves. Front door
at centre with stone Tuscan pilaster surround and a flat entalature. Door
is wooden with 6 panels, C20. Door on side wall (left) with stone
architrave and open pediment carried on rolute brackets with foliage motifs.
Door with 2 flush and 4 glass lights. Windows at rear: 5, 2-light ovolo
stone mullions. Continuous labels over all the ground and first floor
windows. Iron casements with leaded lights, 18 to each casement.
Front wall has large coursed stow with coping-stones. Square stone gate-
pier at left hand, with coping-stone ramped up to it.
