11/08/72 The Cottage and Lynley Cottage

GV II

Pair of cottages. Probably earlier C18; altered. White-painted
roughcast render, slate roof. Double-depth plan,
double-fronted and single-fronted respectively. Two low
storeys, 2+1 windows. The Cottage has a doorway offset to the
right, with a board door and strap hinges (and C20 slate
canopy), and 2 small 2-light casement windows on each floor,
those at ground floor segmental-headed (and that to the left
now altered as a top-hung casement). Lynley Cottage has a
doorway with altered door and similar slate canopy, and one
unhorned 12-pane sashed window on each floor. Included for
group value.
