House. Early to mid C19 remodelling of an earlier building. Stucco
rendered on sandstone cellar, low-pitched hipped slate roofs. 2
storeys, 3 windows, glazing bar sashes, tripartite on ground floor,
central projecting Tuscan portico, glazed doors; moulded string over
ground floor, large plain ridge stacks. Right hand return has datestone
"WS" (William Stanier) over "1706"; service extension (now Cosford
Grange Farmhouse) in similar style to right but with close spaced windows
making 2:2:4 windows on south front. Said to be on the site of a
monastic grange belonging to Buildwas Abbey; Eyton, Vol.II (1855),
262-4
