A Grade II Listed Building in Farningham, Kent

Bee Bole at Farningham

Taken 13/4/13. I wondered what a Bee Bole was. Before Bees were kept in wooden frames they were kept in "Skeps" made from straw. A Bee Bole was a place to keep a skep. It goes back to when honey was used before sugar for sweetening, and the beeswax for candles.
