1/49 Barn about 15 yards south
of Old Kates

Barn. Perhaps C16 or C17. Rubble, timber-frame, weatherboards, corrugated
iron roofs. 3 bays. Rubble base under frame 2 panels high to wall-plate;
east end is clad in weatherboards and corrugated iron, west end in corrugated
iron; opposed full height entrances to centre bay; rubble single storey cow-
house extension to east end and catslide extension clad in corrugated iron
to north of west bay. Interior: 4 pairs of heavily cranked crucks, eastern
cruck has collar in situ, cruck spurs to wall-plate immediately to east of
north entrance; trenched purlins. Forms group with Old Kates (qv).
