Pair of four now two cottages. Late C17 / early C18. Roughcast over timber
frame set on brick plinth; gables plain tile roof, with C20 tiles to No 69 on
left and old tiles to No 71 on right; brick ridge stacks. 4-unit plan. One
storey and attic; 4-window range. Flat rendered arches over mid C20 door to
No 69 and C19 plank door to No 71 and mid C20 2 to 3-light windows to No 69;
No 71 has late C19 two to 3-light casements set in moulded wood architraves;
four gables dormers.
Rear elevation retains early C19 horizontal-sliding sash, two late C18 / early
C19 two-light iron casements and an early C19 six-panelled door.
Interior of No 69: exposed timber frame of light scantling, with tabled
scarfs to wall plates; chamfered beams; late C17 / early C18 plank doors with
original strap hinges and latches to two quarter-torn stairs with winders. No
71 not inspected but likely to be of interest.
