Pair of almshouses. Datestone 1754 founded by William Law altered C20. Squared
coursed limestone and brick with Collyweston slate roof. Originally each 2-unit
plans forming a rectangular range. Elevation abutting Bridge Street is a
4-window range, with 2 blind windows to centre and 2 C20 casements, under wood
lintels, flanking. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar end stacks. Mid C20
single-storey, flat-roof brick extensions to left and right. Central plaque has
date 1754 in oval panel with cornice over. Rear elevation is a 6-window range of
C20 casements. Central plaque, with cornice over, has inscription in oval panel,
"1754 Usum innuptanum vel viduanun". Central entrances on this elevation now
converted to windows. Entrances in C20 brick extensions to left and right.
Interiors not inspected but noted as having fielded panelled partitions.
