3/294 Gateway about 10 m north of
Stapleton Manor

GV II

Gateway. Probably 1825. Ham stone ashlar. Square piers; plain plinth, upper string course and moulded bell-hip
capitals, in all about 2.25 m high; quarter circle convex wing walls with plain copings, about 1.75 m high, terminating
in matching piers: a timber farm type gate now installed. The gateway adds to the setting of Stapleton Manor (qv) and
to the streetscene.
