7/245 Nos. 9, 11 and 12 Black Hill Bottom -

G.V. II

Group of cottages, mid C18 to early C19. Hammer-dressed stone, watershot in places, stone slate roof. 2 storeys and attic. West front has 2 cells with quoins set between. All are chamfered mullioned windows. 5-light with 6-light over, doorway with monolithic jambs; 6-light window with same over, only with some flat faced mullions replacing chamfered mullions. Left hand return wall has 2 doorways and 2-light window with same to 1st floor and attic. 3-light window at junction of rear wing at right angles. This has flat faced mullioned windows. 4-light with 2 of 2 lights over to 1st floor. Gable with stack has doorway with tie-stone jamb and small single light to both floors. Other gable has doorway with monolithic jambs to left of 3-light window with 2-light over to attic. Rear of earlier range is back-to-earth and has doorway with tie-stone jambs at 1st floor level to left of 4-light chamfered mullioned window. Kneelers survive but lacks coping and chimneys.
