The pebble dash has been questioned as a Douglas feature. Hubbard E. 'The Works of John Douglas' (1991) clearly attributes this to Douglas
'There is pebble-dash rendering, consistent with the Edwardian date...'
Here Douglas is experimenting with new and modern techniques, but within his own aesthetic.
