Circa 1600, largely refaced in early C19. Stucco; two storeys plus attic. Of three bays, the sides advanced and crowned with Dutch gables. Five windows with rustic glazing and hood moulds; arched rusticated porch; two dormers; early C19 stacks and one restored stack with diagonal brick shafts; old tiles. Original fabric internally including good panelling to ground storey room at north-west eagle.
The house is directly associated with the Gunpowder Plot. The home of Stephen Littleton and the last refuge of the conspirators; the leader, Robert Catesby, was killed and others arrested here.
