Cottage (with character of a lodge or toll cottage), early C19
extended east (in keeping) probably 1930's. The C19 part is of local
brown brick with hipped grey slate roof, originally pyramidal. 2
storeys. Central chimney of 1 flue. The faces to north (Pump Lane),
west (Farndon Road) and south have a central round-arched recess
containing a 12-pane wood casement to lower storey and an 8-pane one
to upper storey. Plain slightly projecting plinth and 1st floor band,
both of sandstone. Exposed joists at eaves. A small casement is
inserted near north east and south west corners of C19 portion.
Boarded door in extension.
