6/121 Gate Piers (three
pairs) and Garden
Wall to The Castle
GV II

Gate piers of rusticated limestone with deeply moulded cornices
to caps and ball finials c.1656 resited. One pair now flank the
main east entrance to The Castle, and two other pairs now with
entrances sealed face Market Street and The Crescent. The red
brick garden walls, partly coped with reused moulded stone was
possibly built c.1800.
