Bowling Club house. Dated 1809 in Roman numerals on datestone
on pediment. Brick with stone dressings and slate and pantile
roofs. Gothick style. Front has plinth and ground floor sill
band. Coped gables, the front ones crenellated, 3 octagonal
gable stacks. 2 storeys; 4 window range, the central 2 bays
projecting. 2 margin light sashes, flanked to right by a
larger similar sash and to left by a door. All these have
pointed heads and keystones. In front of them, a large balcony
on reeded iron posts, with a Gothick cast iron railing. The
front of the balcony is inscribed wihth the club motto " Let
no man be biased". Below the balcony, two 2-light casements
flanked by single doors, that to left with lozenge panelling,
all with Gothick overlights and keystones. 3 storey rear
elevation has projecting centre. 4 window range of blank
Gothick windows. Above, 2 similar blanks. Below, 4 similar
blanks, 3 of them altered into 2-light casements.
