Mid C19. Hammer dressed stone. Double pitched slate roof. Coped gables
on cut kneelers. 5 storeys and basement. 17 ranges of windows: 4 in end elevation.
Engine house extension to west: 2 storeys and basement: iron water tank on
roof: continuous sill band: 8 ranges of windows. Tower to rear: triple round-arched
windows with raised imposts and keystones: bracketed eaves cornice: cast iron
balustrade round top, and conspicuous timber bell-cote, with pyramidal slate
roof, one louvred and gabled dormer on each side and 5 tall cast iron finials.
