Timber-framed and plastered building of C15 origin but altered in the C17 and
later. Built on an L shaped plan with a gable at the north-east side. The
upper storey has exposed timber-framing on the north-east side and was formerly
jettied. Two storeys. Two window range on the front, of double-hung sashes
with glazing bars and casements. On the north-east front there is an C18 or
early C19 former shop window with glazing bars. Roof, partly pantiled and
partly tiled with a C17 chimney stack with grouped diagonal shafts. The interior
has exposed ceiling beams and joists and a dragon beam and joists probably
of the original building. (RCHM 9).
