2. Country House. Dated 1901. Thackeray Turner.Roughcast with tile and stone
dressings and tiled roof. Irregular plan Arts and Crafts amalgam of Jacobean
and Georgian style. Two main storeys and dormers. South front of eleven main
bays, with gabled three storey-projections to first,fifth and nineth bays
from left. Central arched entrance. Flush framed sashed windows with glazing
bars except to gabled projections, with mainly mullioned and transomed
windows. Modilion cornice. Hipped roof. Tall chimney inner angle of South-
west projection. Some dormers added. Other elevations also of interest,that
to North with mullioned and transomed windows. Interior retains panelling,
fine staircase, with turned and twisted balusters etc.
