Outbuilding at Number 1

A Grade II Listed Building in Thrussington, Leicestershire

Former C18 coach house at 1, Seagrave Road, Thrussington

A much altered structure. The building was begun on a stone plinth. The carriage arch was filled in with slender C18 bricks, apparently not long after it was built. The flat topped doorway within the carriage arch has been blocked with larger, C19 bricks which are still standard today. The lean to on the right is built of C19 bricks, but the curved headed doorway in it has been blocked with recycled C18 bricks. The wall projecting from the left side and the replacement carriage entrance are both C18, while the upper courses and coping above the wooden doors are C19. (Photo Apr 2014).
