Nos 8 (Fern Lee) and 10 (Chapel Farmhouse) and Croft Cottage

House, early C17 now subdivided. Hammer dressed stone, ashlar quoins, stone slate roof. Two storeys. Three room through-passage plan with cross-wing which is flush with front. Double chamfered mullioned window of five lights with same over to first floor have hoodmoulds. Inserted doorway with composite jambs. Housebody has six-light window and two-light fire-window, both lacking some mullions, under stepped hoodmould. Three-light flat faced mullioned window to first floor. Doorway with Tudor arched lintel with small chamfered light over to first floor. Former service end has altered two-light sash window with five-light double chamfered mullioned window over to first floor. Left hand return wall has lateral extruded stack in ashlar. Wing has coped gable with kneelers and finials. Three stacks to ridge.
