A Grade II Listed Building in Brabourne, Kent

Little Foord

Uploader's Comments

Standing in Bulltown Lane, West Brabourne, Kent; looking up the driveway to my childhood home. It caught fire in 1968 and needed 3 fire engines to put it out. It was completely gutted and took my father 18 months to restore it.

There was a female ghost before the fire who I called the brown lady, as she wore a brown dress. My father and mother saw her too - at different times but they never mentioned it to each other until I did - aged 5. After the fire she never returned and a local historian speculated, that she may have been looking for something and it burnt in the fire. The house was traditionally painted in the typical pink (blood/buttermilk) paint.
